The Police say it is a "triumph" that they haven't tried to kill each other. The band played the final concert of their reunion tour - rumoured to be their last-ever show - in New York last Thursday (07.08.08) and, speaking from the stage, frontman Sting praised his bandmates Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers for their "musicianship, companionship and understanding."He went on to say: "The real triumph of this tour is that we haven't strangled each other. Not to say it hasn't crossed my mind - or Andy's or Stewart's." During their performance, which included covers of songs by Jimi Hendrix and cream, two women took to the stage to shave off Sting's beard.Sting revealed last week that women found him more attractive with facial hair. The Police originally split in 1984. Since they reunited last year they are said to have earned around £181 million and played to over 3.5 million people at their 150 concerts.
