British singer Morrissey has put an end to one of the longest-running rumours in pop - he will never reform the Smiths. The cult band split in 1987, and fans have speculated ever since the break-up that the frontman would one day reunite with guitarist Johnny Marr for a one-off concert or world tour.Marr was forced to deny the persistent rumours last December (08) when reports of an "imminent" reunion surfaced yet again. And Morrissey has now spoken out in a bid to finally put the story to rest - insisting he hates nostalgia.Quizzed about a possible Smiths reunion by New Zealand rock magazine Rip It Up, he says: "Why? What's the point? Just to satisfy other people's nostalgia? That's all it is - nostalgia! No, I can't see any reason for it; I do not see the point. But if anybody does, I'd be delighted to hear it."I don't think there is any (unfinished business). I really don't. Really, I'm okay by myself... And I don't say that to have a dig at anybody else. So, no, I do not see the point of it, it eludes me."
