Mary Wilson: 'My Feud With Ross Is Blown out of Proportion'

5 months ago 30th May 16:00

The Supremes legend Mary Wilson has played down her notorious feud with former bandmate Diana Ross - insisting she is still friends with the singer.

The former friends, who became the face of Motown music throughout the 60s and 70s, reportedly fell out after Wilson was snubbed from a Supremes reunion tour in 2000.

(Our relationship) is not like I would want it to be, but it's better than most people would think. We still really love each other. I think other people need to leave us alone.Mary Wilson

She was later offered $2 million (£1.3 million) to join the tour, but Ross then decided to hire two previous Supremes stand-in singers to join her, raking in a reported $20 million (£13 million) for the jaunt.

But Wilson insists that despite her well-publicised battles with the Chain Reaction star, the pair are still firm pals.

She tells New York gossip column PageSix, "(Our relationship) is not like I would want it to be, but it's better than most people would think. We still really love each other. I think other people need to leave us alone."
