The Verve 'Won't Split'....Rockers The Verve have promised fans they will not be splitting for a second time.The group first split in 1999 after they were rocked by the departure of guitarist Nick McCabe.Rumours the band was to split for a second time surfaced after they cancelled a string of festival appearances this summer (08).But bassist Simon Jones has reassured fans they will stick together.He says, "I don't think any of us would be that careless again."If we have a disagreement, we'll work through it. It won't be 'F**k you, f**k you, f**k you and f**k you."Elsewhere The Verve star Simon Jones confesses he struggled to watch bandmate Richard Ashcroft carve out a solo career.
The frontman released his own songs following the breakdown of the band in 1999.
And Jones admits he was jealous of his pal's success.
He says, "I couldn't listen to it. I had lost my band and he went on to have a solo career and that was painful.
"When Richard played with Coldplay I turned it off. I had to find a way to deal with the fact that this thing that was so precious to me was lost.
"My way to deal with that was not to listen to Richard's records."
