Usher's Ex Won't Chastise Him in Public

Usher's estranged wife Tameka Foster has vowed to fight their impending divorce battle as privately as possible and has promised not to criticise the R&B superstar in the media.

The Yeah! hitmaker, 30, filed papers in Fulton County Superior Court inAtlanta, Georgia court on Friday (12Jun09), stating the former couple has been living apart since last July (08).

Her lawyer Randy Kessler, who is preparing to file an answer to the divorce petition, tells People

The documents went on to claim there was "no reasonable hope of reconciliation".

But stylist Foster, 38, is refraining from launching a bitter attack on her husband of almost two years, despite the singer going against her wishes and making news of their marital troubles public last week (ends 12Jun09).

Her lawyer Randy Kessler, who is preparing to file an answer to the divorce petition, tells People.com, "We were hoping this case would be resolved privately, but since Usher filed it publicly we will have to respond".

He adds to E! News, "She's trying her best to take the high road and not attack him".

Usher is seeking joint custody of the couple's two kids, Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd, six months.
