Rocker Scott Weiland has finally spoken out about his split from Velvet Revolver, blaming "piddly financial things" and band "bickering" for the supergroup break-up.

The former frontman, who was sacked by his bandmates in April (08), reveals Velvet Revolver had run its course because it stopped being fun for him.

He also claims members of the band were unhappy about his decision to reunite Stone Temple Pilots during a summer hiatus.

Weiland tells the new issue of Playboy magazine, "When I told (founder and guitarist) Slash I was gonna do some festivals with Stp, he said, 'Thank you for being straight up with me'. It wasn't until later that another member of the band had some issues with it.

"It's a shame certain people have a hard time letting go of past resentments and try to throw them onto other people.

"(And) when you start bickering about little piddly financial things, it takes the fun out of it for me... We're all doing pretty good, so if you're going to fuck the relationship up over this, I don't want to be involved."

Weiland's summer tour with Stp has been a success; Velvet Revolver are still searching for the singer's replacement.
