Velvet Revolver have dismissed rumours they have found a replacement for former frontman Scott Weiland, insisting they are still searching for a new singer.
The supergroup, featuring former Guns N' Roses stars Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, sacked Weiland after a series of public band rows in April (08) and have been looking for a new lead vocalist ever since.
Online reports suggested Gord Prior, from Canadian-based band Blu Bones, had been plucked from virtual obscurity to join the rockers - beating competition from artists including Liv Tyler's ex-husband, Royston Langdon.

But a spokesperson for Sanctuary Artist Management, which represents the band, insists the claims are not true - although the representative admits Prior has been approached to pen lyrics for the group.
The rep tells Music Radar, "Gord Prior isn't the new guy. In fact, no decision has been made as to who the singer is. "But he's just one of numerous singers that tapes went out to.
Gord submitted his demos just like everybody else.
He wasn't even asked to come in and do a formal audition".
