Westlife find new female member

Westlife have found a new female member to collaborate with them on their forthcoming album. The Irish boyband held auditions to find a girl to perform a song with them on their swing-inspired collection. Thousands of hopefuls auditioned to sing with the four members - Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne and Mark Feehily - and the lucky girl was Joanne Hindley from Bolton. Shane said: "She has a brilliant voice. Simon Cowell helped us choose, so you know she's gonna be good. We only broke the news to her on Tuesday (31.08.04). We surprised her in the supermarket in Bolton with her mum." Although just one girl was chosen, the award-winning group were impressed with the high standard of talent throughout the auditions. They said: "The standard of entries has been really high."
