Whitney Houston's former onoff boyfriend Ray J was reportedly asked to leave the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (20May12) after members of the late singer's family spotted him sitting near her daughter Bobbi Kristina.
The soul man-turned-reality TV star was just as stunned as Houston's sister-in-law and former manager Pat Houston when he discovered his seat atthe ceremony was just behind the family.
But, while he was happy to stay, Houston reportedly insisted he was notwelcome in that section of the audience.
U.S. TV and radio presenter Billy Bush claims eight uniformed cops werecalled to the MGM Grand Garden Arena to ask Ray J to move, but when the family was told the singer was unwilling to comply and that a physical ejection would create unnecessary drama on a night that featured an emotional tribute to the I Will Always Love You legend, Houston agreed he could stay.
The pre-show drama was overshadowed by the tragic superstar's tribute, performed by Jordin Sparks and John Legend, and Bobbi Kristina's emotional acceptance speech as she stepped onstage to claim her mother's Millennium Award.
