Akon Applauds Houston's Comeback

R&B singerproducer Akon is confident Whitney Houston will make a triumphant return when her highly-anticipated album debuts in September (09) - insisting she'll pick up "right where she left off".

Akon has been producing records for the superstar's seventh studio disc- her first since 2003's One Wish The Holiday Album.

Houston has been recording tracks for the CD, rumoured to be titled Undefeated, for the last two years.

I don't think anyone could ever take that from her

And although the disc was said to be in its final stages in May (09), Akon is convinced a delay won't stop the hitmaker from charging back to the top of the music charts.

He tells Billboard.com, "The voice is there. I don't think anyone could ever take that from her. As long as we apply that voice to hit records, she'll be right back where she left off".

Houston's record label bosses at Arista have confirmed her long-awaitedCD will be released on 1 September (09).
