Houston to Hit the Road

Pop superstar Whitney Houston is to hit the road for her first tour in 11years.

The singer has returned to the spotlight this year (09) following a much-publicised battle with drugs and the breakdown of her marriage to BobbyBrown.

She topped the U.S. album chart with her new release I Look To You and now she has announced she will follow up the record with a world tour - her first since the My Love Is Your Love tour in 1999.

This is my first full tour since the My Love Is Your Love tour, and I am so excited to be performing for my fans around the world after all this time

Houston will begin her global trek in 2010 and has scheduled dates in the U.K., Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium, with the rest of the concerts set to be announced in the next few days.

Houston says in a statement, "This is my first full tour since the My Love Is Your Love tour, and I am so excited to be performing for my fans around the world after all this time. I am putting together a great show, and cannot wait to perform the songs from my new album I Look To You along with some of your favourites".
