Wolfmother Dominates Australia's Aria Awards.... Progressive rock band Wolfmother picked up three top awards for their self-titled debut album at the Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards on Sunday night (29Oct06) in Sydney.Former Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning also celebrated the success of his debut solo album Tea & Sympathy by winning the Best Male Artist and Album of the Year awards.Singer Clare Bowditch, who is expecting twin boys with her husband, music producer Marty Brown, picked up the Best Female Artist award.Midnight Oil, led by Peter Garrett, who is now a member of the House of Representatives in Australia, received a standing ovation when the group was inducted into the Aria Hall of Fame.U2 frontman Bono appeared via video to congratulate the band on their achievement.Australian country star Keith Urban, who was scheduled to perform at the ceremony, left event organisers hanging after he checked himself into a rehab facility and they were unable to find a suitable replacement in time for the show.
