The 28-year-old singer was nervous ahead of her set at the legendary music festival on Saturday (25.06.16) but once she took to the stage, she couldn't have been happier.

She told the crowd: "Oh my God, this is the best moment of my life. Glastonbury means the world to me, I'm not even lying.

"I have always wanted to do this but I've been too scared."

Adele kicked off her performance on the Pyramid Stage with 'Hello' and changed the lyrics to "I've been Glastonbury dreaming".

She invited a young fan on stage, telling her "I've been coming to the festival since I was your age," before taking a picture with her.

Adele also delighted the crowd with her banter between songs, quipping: "It took me a long time to write my album. I mean I had a baby, but I'm also a bit lazy."

Earlier it was revealed that Adele was worried about performing in front of the massive crowd of at least 150,000 people.

According to The Sun newspaper, Adele's manager Jonathan Dickins was overheard telling a pal: "She's nervous. She hasn't got here yet. I think anyone would be nervous playing in front of that crowd.

"I'm nervous myself. I've got a twinge!"

Adele has been quite open about her fear of performing in front of large crowds in the past, previously insisting that she would not play Glastonbury for that reason.

She said: "I think I have made myself pretty clear on Glastonbury. The crowds are too big - I don't know if I could do it."

However, she has since changed her mind and hit back at those who dubbed her too "boring" to headline the music extravaganza.

She said: "I wanted to do it last year but my record wasn't ready. And to the people who say I am too boring to headline, you're more f***ing boring for moaning about me headlining."
