The 'Hello' hitmaker admits she is still battling with her nerves when she gets up on stage to perform and says it can lead to her being "fidgety" and moaning.

She explained to NPR: "I get so nervous with live performances that I'm too frightened to try anything new. It's actually getting worse. Or it's just not getting better, so I feel like it's getting worse, because it should've gotten better by now.

"(When I'm nervous I'm) fidgety, I moan, I complain, I try and escape, I try to get out, belch ..."

And the 27-year-old singer had reason to be nervous as she revealed her partner Simon Konecki had recently stayed to watch one of her show's the whole way through for the first time ever.

She added to the TODAY Show: "The first time he saw me was at the Grammys [in 2012], which was the first time I'd opened my mouth to sing after my surgery [in 2011].

"It was his first whole show that he's seen and he loved it, it was such a great moment. He approved. Even if it was rubbish I think he'd approve!"
