Bastille have entered number one in the UK Albums Chart this week with new record 'Wild World', and have spoken to OfficialCharts.com a little about their music.

Frontman Dan Smith explained: "I think we just wanted to push what we do a little bit further. I guess it's interesting that it comes at a time where I think just people don't really care about genre any more. It's not a thing.

"Everyone that we know listens to anything and everything and I guess we wanted to affect that as well."

They also said about their chart-topping record: "This feels very surreal. Obviously it's amazing! This album has been a real labour of love for us… Making it has been the one constant through all the madness of the last couple of years."

'Wild World' debuted at the top of the chart with combined sales of 36,000, beating strong competition from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and their new album, 'Skeleton Tree'.
