Bastille are back with their new single 'Fake It' following on from previous release 'Good Grief', and have spoken a little about the track.

Chatting to NME, Bastille's lead Dan Smith explained: "This was one of the last tunes we made for the album and it's one of our favourites.

"It was fun to nod towards a lot of the music we love when putting together the beats and with the really heavy 808 bass line that comes out of nowhere."

Dan also told Zane Lowe on Beats 1: "For me all my friends and all the guys in the band, they just kind of think I'm mental most of the time. Ideas pop into my head anywhere and everywhere and I sort of just mumble them into my phone, like some sort of crazed maniac.

"This is one that actually came super late in the process, I wrote it in December and recorded it in January and February. For all of us it's kinda our favourite song on the record at the moment. And we sorta wanted to blow people's heads off a bit with the bass and the chorus and just have the song kind of be a weird, developing, twisting thing where the beat changes all the time. Just a nod to all the music that we love and make something that feels like the night time basically."

The group's second studio album 'Wild World' meanwhile is scheduled for release on September 9.

Following the release, the band are going on tour around the UK following some big festival performances.
