The 'Uptown Funk' hitmaker had intended to release a new LP this month, but put off the release to focus on his appearance at Coldplay's Super Bowl halftime show last month, but fans can still expect to hear new music this year.

The 30-year-old singer's father, Pete Hernandez, told Press Reader: "It was due in March, but by doing the Super Bowl, it threw him back several months.

"Bruno has seven great new songs - I've heard 'em - but the album should now be released in September or October, to qualify for next year's Grammy Awards."

The announcement comes after sound engineer Charles Moniz teased that the Hawaiian star is in the process of creating a new musical movement.

He said: "I think it's going to be the next movement of Bruno. That's the thing: When the vibe's right and everyone's having fun, that's when the best music comes out."

Bruno's new record will be his first studio release since 2012's 'Unorthodox Jukebox' LP, which won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in 2014.
