The Smiths' Johnny Marr and Chic's Nile Rodgers have worked with Bryan Ferry on his new album 'Avonmore'.

The singer has also worked with Flea, Mark Knopfler, Maceo Parker and Ronnie Spector on the LP, to be released on November 17.

Featuring two covers and eight original songs, the album is led by new single 'Loop De Li', available to download now.

Teaming up with Norwegian DJ and producer Todd Terje on the cover of 'Johnny And Mary', he believes their new take on the hit is "much better" for his album.

He explained previously: "I eventually met Terje in Oslo when I was on tour with my band, and we got on famously.... I have always liked Robert Palmer's beautiful song 'Johnny and Mary' with its haunting lyrics. Initially we tried it fast like the original, but later Terje gave it a different slower feel, which was much better."

Bryan will be playing one of his final gigs on home soil at the intimate venue of Lord's Cricket Ground, on October 17. Tickets are priced at £200 which includes a free champagne and canapé reception, four course Bicentenary dinner with wine, port and cheese and further music and dancing following the performance. They're available through Lords.org/celebrationevents or by calling 0207 432 1000.
