Dappy has been called a "puffed-up little boy" and advised to undergo counselling after he bragged of beheading pheasants on hunting trips by People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals founder Ingrid Newkirk.

The British hip-hop star told this week (beg30Jan12) how he was broughtup to love fishing and confessed he fantasises about living in the wild like TV survival expert Bear Grylls.

He boasted of catching carp with bread bait and making a broth out of game birds, telling Britain's FHM magazine, "The other day I chopped off apheasant's head and made a stew. I used to go carp fishing with my dad on the canal. I love all that man-against-nature stuff. Hey, I am the realBear Grylls".

He also told Q magazine, "(My parents) brought me up fishing so when mydad died I carried on the legacy... I always say put me in a forest, leave me there, I can survive - man against nature. I love watching Bear Grylls".

But Dappy's remarks have infuriated PETA boss Newkirk, who insists the rapper is desperately courting attention, as he did when he released an explicit photograph of himself last year (11).

Newkirk tells WENN, "The pain and suffering of the animal aside, someone - maybe a psychologist - might say a man needs counselling when, like apuffed-up little boy shouting, 'Look, mummy, look', he tries to prove that by simply standing up and using a rod or gun, he can overpower a two-pound bird or a struggling fish. "Taking a picture of his penis is not unrelated to this desire of his to be seen as big, even by picking on very small animals who pose him no threat.

It takes a very small person indeed to enjoy traumatising, hurting, and killing animals who are minding their own business.

"If Dappy hopes to ingratiate himself with the British public, he'd do well to follow the compassionate example of music legends like Sir Paul McCartney, who respect all living beings".
