The 'Stone Cold' hitmaker has been busy tucked away in a recording studio for most of Spring and plans on readying some tracks so she can play them at the shows, which kick off on June 24 at the BB&T Center in Florida.

She said: "By the time I go on tour, I want to be able to perform new songs. Ideally, I would release a single next month."

The 23-year-old pop beauty also talked about how "bummed" she was because the two lead tracks, 'Confident' and 'Cool for the Summer', from her latest LP 'Confident', weren't as well-received as she had hoped for.

However, she's come to find that she has a much better understanding of her music now.

She told Refinery29: "I was really bummed about it because that's what I was going for. I got to the point where I was like, 'Oh my god, It does not f***ing matter.' At the end of the day, I'm going to be on tour and I want to be performing songs on stage that I can sing my ass off to and really feel when I'm on stage. So now I have a much better sense of my music."

Demi accepts that she still has a lot to prove, but feels she is "underestimated" as an artist.

And she also wants to show herself that she has can stay off the booze.

She said: "I'm still underestimated. I still have more things to prove - not just about the things I can do with my voice.

"Some people think that because I'm young, I can't stay sober. But these are things I want to prove to myself."
