The 'Don't Speak' hitmakers - Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young - have recruited AFI's Davey Havok to front the new untitled project, but it's not known if Gwen has left or if it's just a side project, according to Billboard.com.

The group will no doubt come as a surprise to fans as back in April the band said they were uncertain about their future.

At the time, Drummer Adrian said: "We're a little bit of limbo right now.So, we'll see where that takes us."

Meanwhile, Gwen is focused on relaunching her solo career and has just dropped the second single 'Make Me Like You', which, judging from the lyrics, is about falling in love with her new beau Blake Shelton following the break down of her 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale last year.

In the track released on Thursday (11.02.16), she sings: "I was fine before I met you. I was broken but fine. I was lost and uncertain. But my heart was still mine. I was free before I met you I was broken but free. All alone in the clear view. But now you are all I see."

The blonde beauty, 46, took to Twitter to announce the new tune and thanked her fans for the continued support and said it was "surreal" reading all of their kind words.

She wrote: "U guys make me so happy #MakeMeLikeYou omg #loveuback. THANKU for all your tweets gx ... Reading all your tweets #surreal #MakeMeLikeu #MMLY #thanku gx (sic)."
