Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy think they're too weird for One Direction.

The band were enlisted by the younger group to help them develop a rock-oriented sound for their new album, but Pete Wentz admits none of the songs they wrote made the cut.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper he explained: "Last time we were in London we wrote with the guys in One Direction.

"It was a great session but I don't know if Fall Out Boy writes what One Direction wants to sing.

"There's a certain area of odd that we can stake a place in, but it's like we have the language of twins. Maybe it's too odd for One Direction because they didn't end up using the songs this time."

Aside from that work, Wentz feels his group have changed enough since their debut to still be a relevant force in the industry.

""We've evolved, so we still get to play shows with pop acts like Meghan Trainor and Iggy Azalea."

He also explained that FOB feel like an anomaly because they've not been formed on a talent show or by a record label.

"We are always the odd ones at the party because we are clearly not a band that was put together. But hopefully we are a band who enjoy a pop moment."
