Though interest was high during the press conference and announcement surrounding Jay-Z's Tidal streaming service, that has now surpassed completely it would seem, with Billboard looking into the service ranking on the Apple market. From a high number of 83 in the App store shortly following its launch, it has now fallen completely out of the top 750 as of today.

It is of course too early to tell if the service is a complete flop, with Tidal itself not announcing any actual subscriber numbers, but the evidence isn't looking good.

A huge amount of big players in the music industry are onboard - including Madonna, Chris Martin, Usher, Daft Punk and Beyoncé as well as Jay-Z himself - but other musicians have allowed their own feelings to be heard, and not all of them have been positive.

Lily Allen slated the pricing, which costs $9.99 per month for standard and $19.99 per month for hi-def streaming, making it the most expensive music streaming service available. Other than a short introductory free trial period, it has no longstanding free option like giant service Spotify.

Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons joins Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie in saying that the lack of small artists in the initial rollout is a turn-off, and Lily Allen went on to add that the high price combined with exclusive content would force people to "swarm back to pirate sites".

There's also rumours of internal strife following the stepping down of CEO Andy Chen who left the company just under three weeks after the big announcement gala, with word suggesting also that between 12 and 25 other employees also left.

Tell us, do you have Tidal, and if so what do you make of the service?
