Jessie J has admitted she feels "gutted" about being snubbed from the nominations shortlist at this year's forthcoming BRIT Awards.

The singer failed to gain any nominations in any of the categories at the annual ceremony, and she says the shun disappoints her following the success of third album 'Sweet Talker'.

"I was gutted. I would be lying if I said I wasn't," she told the Daily Mirror newspaper.

Though she's acknowledged she doesn't expect to have everybody's love, she slammed the ceremony for not supporting graduates from London's BRIT school.

"It would be nice if they celebrated people who come out of the BRIT School and become British pop stars.

"It is a matter of opinion and choice. I always say, 'You can't always be on top.' It's not my choice, I can't make people nominate me."

Despite this, Jessie praised those who are up for awards, expressing particular fondness for FKA twigs and Ella Henderson.

"I am excited for people who have been nominated.

"FKA twigs is incredible. Ella Henderson, I'm a huge fan of. There are some amazing nominees in there."
