Jimi Jamison
Jimi Jamison has died aged 63.
The Survivor frontman - who famously sang the 'I'm Always Here' theme tune for the US TV show 'Baywatch' - passed away on Sunday night (31.08.14) after suffering a heart attack, reports TMZ.
The Eighties rocker provided lead vocals for the band - whose renowned hit 'The Eye of the Tiger' was released just before he joined the group - from 1984 until 1988 after their previous frontman David Bickler was forced to retire after developing polyps on his vocal chords.
The news was released on the band's Facebook, where the group described Jimi - who rejoined the band in 2000 for six years alongside Bickler before formally leaving to pursue a solo career - as "our bother".
They wrote on their Facebook page: "The entire Survivor family is very shocked and saddened.
"Our thoughts, love and prayers go out to his family and friends."
Jamison released three albums with the band 'Vital Signs' in 1984, 'When Seconds Count' in 1986 and 'Too Hot to Sleep' in 1988.
