Kanye West leads tribute to the late David Bowie.

The 'Starman' hitmaker died aged 69 following an 18-month battle with cancer yesterday (10.01.16) and stars have flooded Twitter with their tributes of the iconic pop star.

Kanye West said Bowie was one of his "most important" inspirations.

He wrote: "David Bowie was one of my most important inspirations, so fearless, so creative, he gave us magic for a lifetime.

"I pray for his family and friends."

And the Foo Fighters referred to him by his first name and said "rest in peace".

Elsewhere, singers Gary Numan and Alison Moyet also paid tribute to the singer, whose real name was David Jones.

Gary wrote: "A True Legend. David Bowie. RIP."

And Alison added: "David Bowie. Our greatest, gone and here forever. A world's heart breaks. #Bowie (sic)"

Adam Lambert and and Halsey have also shared touching tributes.

Adam ,33, wrote: "RIP Bowie"

And Halsey - whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane - was "devastated" to hear the news of his passing and hailed him someone who will "live forever in his cultural impact".
