Spurred on by competition, it seems the world of music is not done with pitting women against one another - especially when the women themselves don't mind throwing not-so-subtle digs at one another in the glare of the spotlight.

With Taylor Swift and Katy Perry's legions of fans, there's some hostility to be expected from the two fanbases, and that was shown ahead of Swift's headline set at the British Summertime Festival in London's Hyde Park.

When an image of Perry flashed up on-screen twice as part of an advert for Capital FM, the Swifties hissed and booed, expressing their displeasure at the star.

However, when Swift's face popped up there were raucous cheers - the crowd then enjoyed a set from Swift to round off the night.
