The American band - who have just released their seventh studio album 'WALLS' - are going to rock the Great Oak Stage at the London music festival on July 6 and they cannot wait to come to the UK to perform for their British fans.

Drummer Nathan Followill said: "It's always a pleasure to party with our amazing fans at Hyde Park."

Joining Kings of Leon - also comprised of Nathan's brothers Caleb Followill and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill - on the bill are legendary US alt-rock band Pixies.

Cited as an inspiration for Nirvana, Radiohead and Blur, the group - fronted by Black Francis - will play their biggest ever London show following the release of their latest LP 'Head Carrier'. The line-up also includes Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats with more acts to be confirmed.

Kings of Leon are the third headliners confirmed for BST in Hyde Park following the announcement of Green Day and Phil Collins.
