Liam Gallagher's plea for a fan to peel a potato at his London gig this week was answered by a vegetable-wielding man on Tuesday night (07.11.17).

The former Oasis frontman made the unusual request as a double-edged joke dig at his estranged brother Noel's expense, as potato is his favourite insult to hurl at his looks on Twitter.

His plea for a spud to be part of his band's sound is also another swipe at his sibling's scissor player who joined the High Flying Birds during his performance of 'She Taught Me How To Fly' - from his upcoming psychedelic album 'Who Built The Moon?' - on weekly UK music show 'Later... With Jools Holland'.

Ahead of his show at London's Bethnal Green Working Men's Club on Tuesday (7.11.17), Liam tweeted: "I'm looking for somebody to peel some spuds live on stage tonight at this gig in Bethnal Green must have own peeler as you were LG x (sic)"

One fan stepped up to the plate for the Britpop legend - who recently topped the charts with debut solo album 'As You Were' - and was seen in the crowd skinning a spud as Liam rocked out at the gig, hosted by Absolute Radio.

It comes after Liam, 45, didn't hold back when he was asked about his 50-year-old brother's experimental moment.

A fan asked him on Twitter: "You got anyone on the scissors tonight?"

And Liam quipped: "Im afraid not but I do have somebody sharpening a pencil it sounds mega with a bit of reverb on it proper out there gear (sic)"

When asked the same question by another follower, he wrote: "I'm afraid not but I do have somebody sticking stickers in a book sounds mega a bit of reverb on we'll out there gear (sic)"

He also responded to another follower: "I do have somebody peeling a banana on stage sounds mega with a bit of reverb proper out there gear (sic)"
