Nile Rodgers

Nile Rodgers says that his life was changed by The Beatles.

The musician revealed their track 'A Day In The Life' was the first he played on the guitar and thus prompted him to chase a career in the music industry.

Speaking to Popjustice.com he explained: "The first song I ever learned to play was a Beatles song called 'A Day In The Life'. That changed the whole course of my entire career."

He also went on to reveal that he still isn't fully confident about his musical ability, despite the huge success he's seen throughout his extensive career. In fact he typically assumes people don't or won't like his songs.

"I don't go into a project assuming that it's going to be a hit. I go into a project assuming it's going to be a failure and then do everything in my power to try and help people hear the music."

Working with the likes of Avicii, Adam Lambert and Sam Smith in just the past few years, he contributed to worldwide smash hit single 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk and confesses he's actually very picky about who he collaborates with.

"People that I admire, respect and people that I believe that I'm going to learn from. I always go into a situation feeling highly confident I am going to teach them something and it really doesn't matter whether its Placido Domingo or Avicii, I believe that if I don't have something to offer you, why do you use me?

"If I can't give you something new then why do you need me? I always believe in working with somebody who is going to teach me something."
