Kempton Park is delighted to announce that Olly Murs, one of the most successful male singers of the past decade, will be performing live at the Surrey racecourse on Friday, 17 August.
Olly, who embarked on a nationwide tour on 1 February, has established himself as one of the most successful male recording artists of recent times with three No.1 singles "Please Don't Let Me Go," "Heart Skips a Beat" and most recently "Dance with Me Tonight".
Not content with three number one singles, and two double platinum albums, Olly Murs also presents The X Factor spin-off show The Xtra Factor.
Olly loves performing live and that enthusiasm shone through on his first headline tour with every venue selling out, including three nights at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
Olly is performing at headline venues this year and will be taking part in the JLS Sport Relief Matinee at the O2 Arena along with hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks at the end of March.
Olly is looking forward to performing for his fans at Kempton Park Racecourse once again after performing a fantastic finale to the Kempton Live music nights in 2011, in front of a crowd of 7,000 fans. "I really enjoy playing live and just want people to enjoy my music.
"The atmosphere at Kempton is always amazing and I enjoy backing a few horses too." commented Olly in his famous easygoing banter.
Olly is looking forward to performing his new single ‘Dance With Me Tonight’, co written with Steve Robson and Claude Kelly. "The song just popped out of nowhere," laughs Olly.
"It’s a really hooky, happy song that you can’t help dancing to. I love its Showaddywaddy doo-wop feel, and I defy anyone not to tap their feet to it when they hear it."
Amy Starkey, Managing Director of Kempton Park Racecourse, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Olly back to Kempton for a third consecutive year".
"Olly always performs a fantastic show for his fans which leaves everybody buzzing when they see him live. He has a unique feel good style of music which is perfect for a summer’s evening at Kempton Park." Amy continued.
Kempton Park, within easy reach of the capital, is London’s premier horse racing and entertainment venue and Olly Murs performing is going to be one of the highlights of Kempton Live this summer.
Fans can enjoy live horse racing under the floodlights before the action on the stage kicks off. Cheering home some winners will really put you in the mood for the non-stop action on the stage from Olly.
With Olly’s first tour selling out completely you won’t want to miss out on seeing him live in 2012. Get your tickets for Olly’s concert at Kempton Park now! For details visit www.kempton.co.uk
