Hot new UK talent Daecolm is hoping to quickly become the name on everybody’s lips this year, launching his debut single ‘Jungle’ which he co-wrote with London-based producer Detonate, who of course also produced. Introducing the world to his unique brand and sound, the singer-songwriter is certainly one to watch.

Chatting about his debut release, Daecolm said: “For me, ‘Jungle’ is a metaphorical representation of what life is like for someone working to make their mark in a certain area of life which could mean different things to different people, but for me it’s about being an up and coming artist and how I’m navigating that.

“Looking at the traits of the kings of the jungle, where the lion is the top of the food chain, it is eat or beaten, you are either the prey or the predator. So it’s about going for what you want and giving it your all but doing it humbly at the same time.”

This isn’t the first time Daecolm has showcased his extraordinary talent however, with a recent stripped back cover of NEIKED’s hit track ‘Sexual’ garnering over 275,000 streams. Check that out below:

Having been born in Zimbabwe, Daecolm moved to London at a young age with his family, before spending some of his teenage years in New Zealand. Crediting his father as his main musical inspiration, the two have recorded together and performed with one another at family events, but now he hopes to step into the spotlight and gain the attention of the world.

Though this is his official debut single, Daecolm did release a self-written and produced track in New Zealand at 16-years-old, which climbed to number one on the charts. His work as a producer has seen him work with the likes of Craig David, Chris Brown, Labrinth and other huge names, and he currently features on French producer and artist Feder’s brand new single, ‘Back For More’.

For now, though, Daecolm’s debut single ‘Jungle’ is available for download and streaming.
