Royal Blood have been forced to postpone further tour dates due to frontman Mike Kerr being ill.

The rock duo also made up of Ben Thatcher have pulled out of dates in mainland Europe because Mike is suffering with "severe tonsilitus".

According to NME, the two have added to their Portsmouth, Oxford and Bristol-cancelled gigs with those in Milan, Barcelona, Lisbon and Madrid also being shelved following "medical advice".

A statement released by the pair said: "Customers are advised to retain their tickets and await further information with regard to rescheduled dates which will be planned and announced as quickly as possible. We wish to sincerely apologise to all ticket holders for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused."

The band's UK missed dates have been rescheduled for December and early January, and they'll also support Foo Fighters during their UK stadium tour next summer.

Dave Grohl recently admitted he was "genuinely excited" by Royal Blood.

He explained: "I saw some live footage of them, and I was so excited to see a band that was heavy, had riffs, had songs, and could really perform, and an audience that was genuinely excited to watch them play."
