The heavy metal group - comprised of lead vocalist James Michael, Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx and former Guns N' Roses guitarist DJ Ashba - have put out the first of two albums this year, the first being 'Prayers for the Damned Vol. 1' with the second instalment set to follow soon.

And now lead vocalist James has revealed they are already working on songs for album number six, which they expect to be out sometime next year.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "We are already writing a lot of music for the next record, which I think will come out sometimes in 2017 or something like that."

Meanwhile, the 47-year-old rocker says ever since the band became their main focus, especially after Nikki finished Motley Crue's final tour on New Years Eve (31.12.15), they have been on a "creative roll".

He said: "Since the three of us committed to Sixx: A.M. - which happened midway through last year - we've just been on a creative roll and it is really hard to stop us from creating new music right now. We are at a very inspiring time and I think that is because we are going to be spending all of our time doing Sixx: A.M. It is a very creative time for this band."

Meanwhile, on what to expect from their next outing, he said they will always produce songs with "heavy subject matter".

He said: "We've built our reputation and sound on very, heavy subject matter so you can always expect that from us. We like to take on stories that are difficult and we like to find the hope within those."

And bassist Nikki, 57, added: "You always find those are the common themes for human beings."
