The 26-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday (24.10.16), exactly one decade after she dropped her self-titled first record and praised her fans for "encouraging" her on this "adventure".

Taylor posted a throwback picture of herself playing the guitar and wrote: "10 years ago today, my first album came out.

"I couldn't be more grateful today, thinking back on how much fun we've had and how you've encouraged me to change and grow.

"It's been such an adventure, guys. Thank you for all of it."

Taylor released the album when she was just 16 and wrote many of its songs during her freshman year of high school.

Meanwhile, last month Taylor's close pal Gigi Hadid revealed the star is working on her latest album, a follow up to '1989', which was released in 2014.

Speaking after Taylor's split from Tom Hiddleston, she said: "She's obviously such a great friend, and you know she is starting to go back to work in the studio again."

'1989' is widely believed to contain songs about Taylor's brief relationship with One Direction singer Harry Styles, 22 and since then she has dated Calvin Harris, 32, for over a year and enjoyed a brief romance with Tom, 35.

And it was recently claimed that Taylor's pal Selena Gomez advised the star to put her energy into working on a new record after her most recent love-split.

A source said: "When Taylor told Selena about the breakup, the first thing Selena advised Taylor to do was slow down. Selena has known about the Taylor and Tom split for a while.

"Selena's advice was to take a break from men and to spend some time enjoying being single."

Selena told Taylor to "focus her energy in the studio, and drop a new album before another boyfriend pops up".
