You Me At Six are hoping to reach out to a new type of fan base by having one of their songs on a video game.

The British rock group's new track 'Lived a Lie' will feature on the FIFA 14 title - a popular soccer game - and the band are hoping the exposure will lead to hip hop and rap fans finding out about their music.

Max Helyer, who plays guitar in the group, exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "We're looking forward to the exposure the song will give us. I had a friend who was working for Two Door Cinema Club and when they had their songs on FIFA that opened them up to a new world of people.

"They went to New York and one of the security guards was like, 'Oh, I heard your song on FIFA, I love your band, I love your band.' It was just a guy who loves hip hop and rap.

"I think it will do a world of justice to us, the exposure. Especially to new fans who have maybe never heard the band You Me At Six before."

Frontman Josh Franceschi added: "It's a massive platform for exposure definitely. It could completely change the complexion of our fan base."

The 'Rescue Me' hitmakers are also delighted to have their name in the game because they play the title so much while on tour.

Max added: "We're massive FIFA players so when we go on tour that's one of our favourite games to play so to have a song on the game it's got a really special place in our heart."
