Alex Turner repeatedly played Tony Christie's cover of his song to his mother.

The Arctic Monkeys frontman was so thrilled the legendary crooner had recorded a version of his track 'Only The Ones Who Know' he couldn't stop showing it off.

Tony - who met Alex at the Q Awards earlier this year - revealed: "When he'd had a few drinks he just sort of leaned over and said, 'I really like what you did to my song - and do you know what? We got a copy and I was with my mum on the train and we played it over and over again all the way back to Sheffield'.

"That made my day."

The track features on Tony's new album of covers 'Made In Sheffield', which also feature's Pulp's 'Born To Cry' and 'Louise' by The Human League.
