Alphabeat have spent "six months locked in a basement" recording their new album.

The 'Fascination' hitmakers have been so dedicated to perfecting their latest musical offering they have barely seen day light as they worked hard on upcoming LP 'The Spell'.

Singer Stine Bramsen told BANG Showbiz: "We're so excited about our new album. It's great to have it finished. We've spent six months locked in a basement working on this. We didn't want to leave until we were happy with it. It's great to be back performing new material. It's been an eventful year, so we're really excited to have everything organised and be back doing what we love doing. After we lost our deal with BMI, we started to panic. But then Polydor came along and are determined to help us make a success. It's nice to be working with people who believe in us."

Our music has definitely progressed. It's been four years since we wrote our last album so we've definitely changed. But we still sound like Alphabeat, of course.

The red-headed singer is looking forward to see how fans respond to the new material because the tracks on their debut LP 'This Is Alphabeat' were written several years ago.

She explained: "Our music has definitely progressed. It's been four years since we wrote our last album so we've definitely changed. But we still sound like Alphabeat, of course."

Their new single 'The Spell' is out on October 19.
