Amy Winehouse's new album will be "sensational".

Despite recent claims the troubled singer had fallen behind on recording, record company bosses have spoke out to praise the work she has done so far on the follow-up to her award-winning LP 'Back To Black'.

Lucian Grange, Universal Records chief executive, told BBC 6 Music: "I've heard some demos. I've heard some simple songs that she's played me in my office on acoustic guitar, and what I've heard has been sensational."

He added: "Of course, because I'm an optimist and I believe in her. I believe in her as a person and I certainly believe in her as an artist and that's what I hope for."

Amy's third album, her first since 2006, is scheduled for release next year.
