Beth Ditto insists on recording alone.
The outspoken Gossip star recently contributed vocals for 'Cruel Intentions', a track from Simian Mobile Disco's forthcoming album 'Temporary Pleasure' and the duo were amazed by the singer's shyness.
James Ford explained: "She was actually a little bit shy. The first time she was singing through she made us press record and leave the room - which I was quite surprised about considering she gets naked and rolls around on stage."

The 'Standing in the Way of Control' singer loved the chance to work with James and bandmate Jas Shaw because they wanted a completely different vocal from her.
Jas explained to BBC Newsbeat: "We did have a bit of an agenda with her to make her sing in that way. We were aware that she has this amazing voice. We didn't want her to do the 'rock thing' we wanted it to come across as a more soul-y Detroit-y thing.
"We did say, 'Sing quietly'. She was really up for it, she said, 'I don't often get the opportunity to sing like this.' "
