Blur's Future In Doubt?
0Comments | Comment on this Article
Blur's long-term plans are in doubt after their drummer voiced his intention to quit.
Dave Rowntree has admitted he plans to return to his aspiring law career after the band play their planned concert dates this summer, leaving the future of the reformed group uncertain.
Speaking of his work at a London law firm, Dave said: "I only went along for a day but then they said I could go in once a week as work experience. Now I go in three times a week. Hopefully I can go and work there when I'm finished with the Blur tour."
The drummer-turned-lawyer again plans to stand for the Labour Party in the next general UK election and has been selected by the Cities of London and Westmister Constituency Labour Party to contest the seat.
In 2007 Rowntree stood as councilor in the Marylebone High Street ward in Westminster City Council elections, but was unsuccessful.
As well as their own headline shows the 'Parklife' hitmakers - comprising frontman Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and Dave - are set to headline the Glastonbury festival, T in the Park and Oxegen.
