Guns 'N Roses have dropped Brian May from their new album.
The Queen star originally recorded lead guitar for 'Catcher in the Rye', a track that has been confirmed as appearing on the rockers' new album 'Chinese Democracy', but his contribution has reportedly been axed from the finished version.
Brian - who recorded his part in 1999 - insists he understands the thinking behind frontman Axl Rose's decision.
Well, it is a shame, perhaps
He wrote on his website: "Well, it is a shame, perhaps... I did put quite a lot of work in, and was proud of it.
"But I could understand if Axl wants to have an album which reflects the work of the members of the band as it is right now."
'Chinese Democracy', which is released on November 24, has taken 14 years to make and cost Axl Rose a reported $2 million.
