Chris Martin regrets giving Natalie Imbruglia the "best Coldplay song ever".
The Coldplay frontman has revealed his disappointment at giving the Australian solo artist a track for her upcoming album 'Come to Life' because he wishes he had held on to it for his own band.
He said: "A bit annoyingly we've given her the best Coldplay song of all time. But because we're off-cycle we can't do it ourselves."
The single - which is due to be called 'Scars' - is likely to be Natalie's first song from her forthcoming LP, due for release in May.
Chris - who was full of praise for the 'Torn' singer - said: "Half of me wishes we still had it. But she sounds f**king brilliant on it. I think she has a very unique talent and an incredibly unique voice."
This will be the first release from Natalie since her 2005 album 'Counting Down the Days'.
The 34-year-old first shot to fame in 1997 with her debut album 'Left of the Middle' after an acting career in the Australian soap Neighbours.
