Coldplay's culture show

1 month ago 14th May 13:15

Coldplay have announced they will perform a gig in Liverpool.

The British band will be playing towards the end of Liverpool's European Capital of Culture celebrations on December 10 at the city's Echo Arena.

Coldplay earlier announced a world tour for later this year, but had yet to reveal the dates. Frontman Chris Martin said his brother's group Milk Teeth will be supporting them on the tour.

A source said of the band's world tour: "Coldplay don't mess around when it comes to pleasing the fans. It's been a while since they've been on the road, and the pressure of touring can be challenging. But they are up for it and are really excited."

Coldplay are also set to play two free gigs, one at London Brixton Academy and the New York Madison Square Garden.

Tickets are currently available for the free gigs via a ballot on the band's website.

Ticketing details for the Liverpool show have yet to be announced.
