The Prodigy were "inspired" by Dave Grohl.
The British group - who have enjoyed global success with hits such as 'Smack My B***h Up' and 'Firestarter' - insisted the Foo Fighters frontman's drumming contribution to 'Running With The Wolves' got their creative juices flowing.
Group member Liam Howlett said: "Dave sent me some drums on a hard-drive with the hope that it might inspire me to write a song - sure enough when I got the hard-drive it was really inspirational.
We haven't just phoned him up and said, 'Dave can you get on the record?'
"Within the first ten seconds of it being on I was like, 'Yeah this is a song' and the track was born."
Meanwhile, singer Keith insists it was Dave who made the first move towards working with the dance act.
He added: "We've known Dave for quite a few years. We haven't just phoned him up and said, 'Dave can you get on the record?'"
The Prodigy's new album 'Invaders Must Die' is released on March 2.
