Dizzee Rascal Doesn't Need Hits

Dizzee Rascal doesn't need to get to number one.

The British rapper - real name Dylan Mills - says he is so successful he could easily live off the royalties of his previous tracks and his music label Dirtee Stank.

He explained: "I'm the first British artist to have two successive number ones on his own independent label. I never need to have another one again, though don't get me wrong... it would be nice to."

The 23-year-old musician - who topped the charts with 2008's 'Dance Wiv Me'

and this year's 'Bonkers' - says his songwriting has changed a lot over the years because he has been forced to grow up and move on from the controversial situations he used write about.

He explained: "As much as people might think I was doing those early tunes just to show how deep I was, I was also making music that was appropriate to the situation I was in. If I went to a rave in those days - before all the hype started - the atmosphere would be really moody. It wasn't the most sociable place to be, and that's why the music sounds the way it does. But it wouldn't be honest for me to write songs like that now, because I'm not in that situation any more.

"Besides, that sort of thing is ok if you're 16 or 17, but it ain't all that fun when you're 23!"
