Elbow will cap a "perfect year" with a massive homecoming show.
The group - who won two BRIT awards and the Nationwide Mercury Prize for their album 'The Seldom-Seen Kid' and have been nominated for two Ivor Novello awards - will play Manchester's MEN Arena on September 18, their final concert of 2009.
Following the concert, the band will enter the studio to start work on a new album
Singer Guy Garvey said: "It's been a brilliant couple of years if, at times, a bit frantic and occasionally bizarre. To finish with a home town show is the perfect end to a perfect year."
Following the concert, the band will enter the studio to start work on a new album.
The 'Grounds for Divorce' singer added: "It'll be the biggest show we've done. Then we'll disappear for a couple of years to work on a new record."
Tickets go on sale for the concert on Friday (01.05.09).
