Jack White wants to form 20 more bands.
The musician - who fronts The White Stripes and The Raconteurs and plays drums for Dead Weather - says he never deliberately tries to put together new groups but hopes to see several more accidental musical collaborations in future.
He said: "The Dead Weather was going to be a project for one among a handful of seven-inches but it blossomed into something bigger.
"I feel so great that it happened that way, that we never planned it. But we never planned The Raconteurs either - I went over to Brendan Benson's house one afternoon and all of a sudden we were recording an album.
The Dead Weather was going to be a project for one among a handful of seven-inches but it blossomed into something bigger.
"These are the kind of chance encounters I hope will happen 20 more times before I die."
Jack's Dead Weather bandmate Alison Mosshart - who also performs in The Kills - revealed that their venture came about after a string of disasters.
She explained to Britain's Guardian newspaper: "The Kills were supporting The Raconteurs when our tour bus got stolen and we had to share The Raconteurs' bus, so we got to know each other."
During the tour, Jack lost his voice through bronchitis and Alison stepped in to perform his vocals.
She added: "His voice is really high, too high for me, and I ended up losing my voice too. By the end of the tour we could hardly speak.
"Then for some reason we decided it must be the perfect time to record a single together."
