Paul Smith is "annoyed" by memories.
The Maximo Park frontman says his band's forthcoming single, 'The Kids Are Sick Again', has been inspired by the disillusionment of youth but admits he hates looking back to his own younger days.
He said: "'The Kids Are Sick Again' is a straightforward title - its that kind of disillusionment that people feel when they're young and they feel like life's a bit boring.

"It stemmed out of nostalgia really, I find nostalgia a bit of an annoying thing because I want to live in the present and yet there are always these memories.
"One of the things I remembered was the summer holidays being this wide open expanse but then after a week or so thinking 'I'm bored' - I didn't know what life was going to hold in store."
The single will be released on May 4, ahead of the group's third album 'Quicken The Heart', which comes out a week later.
