Muse dazzled fans at London's O2 Arena last night (12.11.09).
The Devonshire trio performed classic tracks from their extensive back catalogue -including 'Plug In Baby', 'Unintended', 'Feeling Good' and 'Knights of Cydonia' - interspersed with songs from their latest LP 'The Resistance', astounding fans with a visual spectacular that included lasers, video screens and rising stage platforms.
Kicking off their set with 'Uprising', the group started perched 20ft high above the stage on innovative video columns, with three others suspended above them, projecting images above and below the group.
As their plinths desended, video effects sent ripples across the stage to make it look as though the trio were slipping underwater.
Although tracks from the new album - perfectly suited to the vast venue - went down well with the fans, it was their older tracks which proved why the group are regularly voted as one of the best live bands in the world, sparking arms-aloft, sing-a-long responses from fans and, at frontman Matt Bellamy's urging, a sea of lighters and mobile phones were waved during the slower numbers.
The group - supported by the Big Pink - play the venue again tonight (13.11.09).
